Crystella ReCylinder: Australia’s first 2.2L CO2 recycling program

Crystella co2 recyclinder bottles and packaging

Crystella is proud to announce ReCylinder: Australia’s first 2.2L CO2 recycling program, revolutionising the way consumers dispose of used gas cylinders. This innovative program emphasises sustainability by recycling steel CO2 cylinders, reducing landfill waste, and conserving natural resources.

Steel is one of the most recycled materials on the planet, with around 98% of all steel being recycled at some point in its lifecycle. The process of recycling steel offers significant environmental benefits, including energy conservation, reduction in pollution, and mitigation of the greenhouse gas emissions associated with steel production from virgin materials. Recycling steel requires substantially less energy compared to producing steel from iron ore. It is estimated that recycling just one ton of steel can conserve 1,100 pounds of coal, underscoring the energy efficiency of the recycling process.

Furthermore, steel recycling plays a critical role in conserving finite natural resources. By reusing steel, we avoid the environmental degradation associated with mining for new ore, including the disruption of landscapes, ecosystems, and communities. This process also helps in reducing the volume of waste sent to landfills, as recycled steel can be repurposed into new products multiple times without loss of quality or strength.

Crystella offers consumers a convenient and eco-friendly solution for sparkling water, with Crystella cylinders delivering more gas than most brands, ensuring better value and environmental benefit. Through Crystella’s ReCylinder program, Crystella is not just offering consumers a sustainable option for their sparkling water needs but is also contributing to a more sustainable and eco-friendly manufacturing landscape. This step forward in sustainability reflects Crystella’s commitment to reducing environmental impact while providing reliable and convenient sparkling water solutions.
